My daughter is showing signs of becoming something I was totally unprepared for. I think she’s going to be a crafter. She looks at scraps and sees things she can make. Exhibit A:   That came out of a baseball cap. It was keeping the shape. She picked it up and told me she sees …

How have four years passed with this little girl? It’s gone by so quickly I can barely remember. She was tiny, and the toddling and now she’s tall and strong and beautiful. She’s talkative and active. She has personality. Her swimming teacher comes over to get her for class and she walks away without looking …

Winter is fully here. Whenever I’m outside with my daughter, watching her play, looking around, I am anticipating her sticking her tongue to a metal pole. I did it when I was her age. I don’t know why. I’m assuming because someone had told me not to. That’s how I roll. It was a chain-link …

I remember believing in Santa, I remember the magic and the wonder, I do, and there are things I totally understand about keeping …

I’m a pessimist. I over react. I assume the worst. I get frustrated when I can’t figure things out. This is me, I’ve been this way all my life, whether it was learning how to read or writing essays or breastfeeding. Now my personality has become a ‘say as I do, not as I say’ …

Just like you, Mommy

Year by year, month by month

Years ago I started making calendars for my family with pictures of the dog, and then of the dog and the kid. I’d get them printed up and put them under the Christmas tree. Last year I forgot and this year I started gathering pictures to start up again.
