Empire State of Mind

A few weeks ago my husband told me that he might have to go to New York City for work. I told him we were going with him. We leave tomorrow.

I first visited New York about a year ago. That trip took a few months of planning, research, pre-buying tickets for the top shows. Then I took the kid for one short day and two shows.

This time we’re going to see some shows that have been running for longer, we have a full day with nothing specific scheduled. I’m really looking forward to the break. To walking around. Exploring with her.

I get to take her to the Museum of the Moving Image in Queen’s and introduce her to my Muppet friends.

We have tickets to see the Harry Potter: A History of Magic exhibit. We’re going to see the otters being fed at the New York Aquarium. We’re going to the National Museum of Mathematics.

And I’m super excited. I’m excited because so many things have been stressful lately and now we get to have fun. We’re making our own schedule. We’re going to more musicals together.

We’re coming back with memories.
