I have taken, in the past few years, to laying out three words to define my year at the start of it. I have done this for my business and for myself. This year I think I will choose two words, two words will be enough for 2015: Learning and Health.
As I tweeted yesterday, the last time I stepped on the scale at the gym it told me I was 243 lbs. This is better than the 250 I was at my physical with my doctor, but certainly not healthy on my 5’8″ frame. I don’t feel healthy, I feel tired and unfit and sick, and that has to change. It’s not just about the weight, it’s about how uncomfortable the weight makes me.
So I’ve picked a couple of classes at the gym I think I’ll enjoy, there’s also a spin bike there with a video classes you can do that’s pretty great (though after 35 minutes my butt is screaming to get off the seat – is that something you get used to ever?)
There will be healthier menus in this house for 2015. That’s a must. I’m a sugar addict and I can’t do it any more. Sugar is slowly killing me, maybe not so slowly, and I have to get that into my head.
As for learning, the learning never stops. It’s not just about school, it’s about the books I’m reading, it’s about the people I meet and the conversations I’m having – online and off.
2014 was eye-opening, 2015 will be as well, I’m sure. Change is in the air and I want to be a part of it.
