Don't just live in the world

At the most recent #MomBizMondays Twitter chat one of the moderators mentioned something about the ‘how vortex.’

Don’t get caught up in the how, she said, focus on the what and the why.

Defining myself in my business has been something I’ve been thinking a lot about lately. I’ve been granted the title of entrepreneur, I’m a small business owner. But what is my business and why have I chosen to do what I do?

I left full time work because the environment I was working in changed, and I no longer felt that what I was doing was worth the time I was losing with my daughter. I started working from home partly to cover our expenses, also to maintain my skills and to give myself some focus outside of being at home caring for a child.

That was two years ago. I would never have called myself an entrepreneur. Two years later I am a business owner with multiple clients. I am ready to define my what and redefine my why.

What’s your why?
