For the last week the kid has spent about 1/4 of her day being a complete and total nightmare. Terror. Seriously.
But over the past two days I have figured out something very interesting: She’ll refuse to do something, but when it becomes clear she has no choice, she’s happy again.
It’s the strangest thing.
It’s like she’s being a jerk because she wants us to prove that we’re her parents and we’re in charge.
I swear, I told her it was time to leave for preschool and I got “I’m not going” but when I told her that not going to preschool meant that we weren’t going swimming either, and when I picked her up to carry her out to the car suddenly it was ‘Okay, ta-ta Grandma.”
Parenting is like a great big test with a whole bunch of trick questions.
