Storyteller

My mom saved a lot of the things I made when I was a kid, and when she moved after retiring she gave them to me. I still have them downstairs and I can picture a few of the things in that box including a little book I put together.

Designed with clipart that I put together on our first computer, printed out on our old school printer with the perforated paper, it was a book about pigs – my favourite animal at the time. As I recall there is some poetry and a short story.

I loved making up stories.

The other day the kid was out in the backyard. She pulled out the sidewalk chalk and started drawing on the patio stones.  When I went out to see what she was up to, she showed me the story she had written.

She’s been making up stories for a while now, fantastic ones and plain old lies, but it was lovely to see that she wants to write them down too.
