Don't just live in the world

Places to go, people to see

I keep talking to people and getting ideas for things I want to do early in this new year, so I want to lay them all out (or I’ll forget):

1) Have a tweet-up knit in – Was talking to @HeatherInOttawa and @Smart_Spaces today and they both agreed this was a good idea. Knitting is a good, warm activity and the Elmdale Tavern is a great place to gather for a few drinks and some laughs. I know a lot of knitters and a lot of people who have mentioned they want to learn to knit and I would love to get a night out doing one of my favourite things and meeting some people I already like talking to face to face. If people are interested, I’ll start official-type planning.

(I should add that crocheters, cross-stitchers, quilters, etc will be welcome)

2)  A good talk – It’s been a long time since I’ve seen the woman that I’ve made friends with online, and things have changed in all of our lives over the past while. I’m planning on changing even more, and I want advice from as many people who will give it. I want to use all you smart, passionate ladies and glean information about how you live your lives and what lessons you’ve learned while being a mother who works. Good coffee and good conversation?

(Note: I started writing this post last night and then this morning Lara tweeted a link to this event which may just fit the bill)

I remain convinced that there was a third thing I was going to add here, but my brain refuses to give it up, but at least I have a starting point.
